120125 - The Deceiver WOD

An oldie but a goodie. This is around the time when I got to Level 1 badass in pushups at 25 reps.
Strength: Strict Press 3×5
55x5, 65x5, 70x3 - disappointed I couldn’t finish the last set.

I swear that I’ve done this WOD before but I can’t seem to find record of it and I stupidly threw out my old WOD book when I moved.
I stalled on wall balls. Should’ve been able to string them better.
“Dennis” WOD
Today the world lost an amazing man, grandfather, father, husband, and brother, whom I have known since 1997. This man was my best friend’s father. A man, that without hesitation, took on a wife and two kids that were not his own blood when they were little kids. He showed them what unconditional love is. Always there for them no matter what. And today, at 56, joined the angels up above. I am glad I was able to be there for her and her family on this very difficult day. And in Dennis’ honor, I named this WOD after him.
Warm Up

= 15:50 (105lbs, strict pushups)
The pushups were extremely brutal. Most the women in earlier classes did on the knees or inclined, but I had decided to “chase” my buddy, JoWa, who was listed as doing 105lbs and got 11:24 (or something like that). So when I finished at 15:50, I wondered what the hell, is this woman Superwoman? I text her after class and ask if she did strict pushups and she said no, she was on her knees! Damn it! No wonder! I was bamboozled. It was just mistakenly not written on the board. But it’s okay. It pushed me so hard, and I refused to go down to my knees. I needed that push, specially today. For Dennis, I pushed myself hard.
Do you see what CrossFit does to you?? It makes you do pushups in your wedding dress!!!

OFFICIALLY LEVEL 1 BADASS IN PUSHUPS!!!!!
On Saturday, July 10, my coach had an “Open Day” at the box, where we can come in and play around with things we want to work on and do a WOD we missed or want to do.
I stopped by for an hour and me and Grace wanted to see how far we can get in pushups, keeping in mind that reaching 20 makes you (for females) a Level 1 Badass!
Kris, with camera in hand ready, filmed each of us….Grace went first and I believe she got to 16. Then I was next….and I got….
22 STRICT PUSHUPS!!!!!!!!!

Kris said I definitely had more in me, in the video he even yelled me as to why I stopped!! Hahaha….but I swear I felt like my arms were gonna give out!
Oh, you know, just a monkey doing push-ups, that’s all.

If you recall, I’ve been doing the Hundred Push-Up Challenge. I’m going on Week 3, I’m not gonna lie, it’s getting harder and harder because obviously it’s more and more day by day, but I feel great and a sense of accomplishment doing them.
