Oh me? Have been MIA because I’ve traveled back to 1966.
Or, life got a kung fu grip on me. As life would have it, I’ve been working a lot and trying to play as much as I work. Fear not, I have been diligently going to CrossFit as well. But, let’s play a quick catch up game to see where I’m at now.
I now have a PR for kipping at 16. Number three on the leaderboard. So close to 20 that I can taste it. To serve as a reminder, my Koach’s rule is that once you get to 20 consecutive kips, you can work on butterfly kipping.
Eating has not been too bad but I will admit that as of recent I have felt the need to cut back on my craft beer intake. Thanks to my brother I have become a beer snob (Hello Belgium brew, my love) but in turn, I feel I’m starting to get bit puffy from it.
New people and people that have been in my life for some time, never cease to surprise me. Whether it’s good or bad, though, is debatable.
Above: 1966 Mad Men themed birthday party for my boss in The Library at the Viceroy Hotel.
A Brenda Walsh kind of day.
Happy Friday!
I’m glad to say that CrossFit 310’s December Drop Off was a success for me. But it’s going beyond December for me. Been going to CrossFit consistently, eating right (very few hiccups over the holidays) and just feeling good. No more maintaining, back to leaning down and getting fitter (<— proper use of the word?).
Disclaimer: Got ready and showered after WOD in record time for work - that explains the mess in my room. Sorry.
Hello fellow Fitblrs. This is me in a onesie, hugging meat. One of my best friend’s and fellow meat lovers, Chris, got me a chest full of of meat for Christmas. Does he know me or does he know me!
He also has started a tumblr. A meat tumblr.
If you are one with meat like we are, go follow The Meat Rack.
What do you give your fellow meat lover, @myquirkylife for Christmas? A chest full of meat!
Did I tell y’all that I went to San Francisco this past weekend? I had an amazing time stomping around with one of my besties.
GPOYW - The Birthday Edition
The ladies at work made me a crown to wear all day at work for my big day! Although I have an enormous head that it is having trouble staying put.
One of the best things I’ve received all day.
GPOY - The Sunday Edition from Saturday
Last minute impromptu costume decision courtesy of my cousin. I couldn’t decide and didn’t want to spend much…so free borrowing worked out great!
Free to roam the woods (aka the bar at hermosa pier) lost with my basket (aka my purse) to take to grandmas.
Smile Friday
Little devil never hurt no one…
We went out on the town for some much needed dancing and debaucheries!
Post John and Alex Ziello wedding reception. Good for the soul to get fancy here and there. (Taken with instagram)
I had no idea how dramatic I look when I kip!
Had my buddy, Jenny, a.k.a Talk to Me Goose, video me so I can see where my “glitch” is in my kip, because I can’t seem to get past 7 consecutive kips.
I see my glitch. I don’t push away from the bar enough, nor quick enough, and coach says I hold myself up there too long. He says it’s hard for me to break the habit because what I have been doing has been working for me, but now it’s also crippling me from getting more in a row than I am. Oh, kipping, one day I will make you bitch.
It’s good for the soul to get fancy every now and then.
So once upon a time, also known as a last Sunday afternoon, I got couple plain tees and then got bored, browsed my drawers and found the fabric paint I used on Warrior Dash tees last year….and the wheels got to turning, and this is the result! Sported it to the WOD tonight!
Update: This is not my design (I wish!), it is based on this photo, I looked at it and painted away!
Thank you deadlifts, squats, plated lunges, wall balls, and pistols for a strong booty.
