Cookies taste good but they make you feel nasty, so keep your body happy through exercise.
Late dinner is better than no dinner and better than resorting to eating out (which is easy to do).
Chicken breast tenders seasoned with creole seasonings, TJ 21 Salute and cumin pan fried in coconut oil with freshly made sweet potato baked fries.
Music Monday
I am a lover of music. Aficionado. I used to post music I work out to here and haven’t in a long time, I feel I should get back on that. This being mainly a health and fitness blog, it’d be best to post music to move to! Many of you probably know about Girl Talk (specially thanks to Tiki!), and I’ve loved them for a while, too! Here are some of my faves, among others:
This is what’s replacing the ancient food pyramid? Okay…better, but not great. Suggesting making quarter of your plate grains? And to increase your intake of fat-free or low-fat milk (a.k.a. processed dairy)? They do emphasize to increase veggie intake, which I like. But is protein now lumped with fats? Don’t fear the fat people!
Post WOD Dinner
Breakfast for dinner, do what I want! 3 cage-free eggs, 1 Garlic & Herb Chicken Sausage, spinach and bit of Monterey jack. Nomtastic.

Did 25 kips!!! First time doing kipping for the entirety of a WOD, and first time I was able to string 4 together consecutively (had been stuck at 3 for a while)!
Goal was to focus on finishing the kipping and not downgrading to a band, so glad I stuck with it! Toward the last half of them I was doing one at a time, but least I finished them!
Post WOD Nom
Rachel (HealthyFitBabe), Jenny (TalkToMeGoose), Chris, and I went to grab some post WOD breakfast at Wildflower Cafe and we were all so good with our choices! Mine (bottom) didn’t quite make it into the picture waah, but I also had an omelet (spinach, avocado, onions and chicken, and we all chose fruit instead of potatoes and the bread!
Bittersweet
I love it when I can actually make it to CrossFit 310 for class (even if I’m a little late - I know Kris hates tardiness but he is aware of my tragic traffic issue), and I always put my all when i go. But it also makes me sad because most people that go now, get to go often, and are building up quickly. That WAS me. I can’t help but get a little upset and angry that I can’t make it in as often.
When I can’t make it to class, I will do WOD’s on my own sometimes, but it’s not even close to being the same as being there, with everyone else and getting pushed by Kris. And now there are so many people I don’t know and don’t know me because I’m not there very often. So many new faces.
CrossFit 110217 - As much as you can
I was able to leave work a little early but since traffic always tries to ruin my life I was still a little late to cf so I did a quick warm up on my own to catch up and jump into the WOD.
WOD
4 rounds (in teams but each do own work)
1:00 of rowing
Double Unders (as many unbroken per round)
Pull Ups (as many unbroken as you can per round)
My results:
Round 1: 264m/8/3 kips
Round 2: 245m/7/4 green band
Round 3: 248m/5/3 green band
Round 4: 249m/5/3 kips
I’m not too thrilled with how I did. I think I did decent on rowing, but double unders….I swear I have lost my groove with that. I’ve PR’ed at 24 and have not gotten to that since. It could be lack of practice (I miss going to cf on a set schedule - damn you traffic). I mean look! I’m stumbling at 5-8 double unders, horrible. I’m glad I was able to at least kip for 2 of the 4 rounds. But alas I am still stuck at 3 in a row. Another thing I wish I could practice regularly. I have a pull up bar at home but I don’t really have the room to do a full swing, might break a shelf or two.
Mmmmmm……meat.
Z Steak Salad: Filet mignon, goat cheese, cubed mango bits, walnuts, over a bed of greens. Meaty goodness.
Breakfast Nom
2 strips of nitrate free uncured bacon and an avocado. Yes folks, I forgot to restock my egg inventory, but that’s no reason to stray right?
P.S. I did have a wheat pita wrap last night, though. Little treat every now and then.
Instead
Had a delicious lamb gyro meat dinner with some salad and tzaziki with red wine. Delicious. How did I burn some of it off?
Michael Jackson Wii Game of course!!!!! One of besties Chris and I broke it down to “They Don’t Care About Us”, “Thriller”, “Smooth Criminal”, “Billie Jean”, and “Beat It”. Sweat galore. Shower time!
