It was recently reported that the fashion industry considers a Size 6 Plus-Sized.
Ridiculous.
Here are the thoughts of very fit and healthy CrossFit men and women on this claim.
Thank you Journey TV for creating this and Paleo OMG for posting it.
I posted this to our box’s LiveFit 310 tumblr, but I wanted to share it with all my fitblr people. A ridiculous claim. Honest and hearty answers from fellow CrossFitting men and women.
I’d rather be strong than a stick. Just sayin’.
A Brenda Walsh kind of day.

When Size Matters
Depending on how long you have been following me, but you may or may not know that I have refused to purchase any new jeans since starting this journey 7 months ago. Needless to say, my once fruitful collection of jeans has dwindled down to me being left with about only two pairs, and even those are pushing it (as in they’re borderline going to drop off my waist). People keep asking me what size I am now but I don’t know because I hadn’t even gone to try on jeans, it made me nervous. The pair I mentioned that I bought without trying on? Ended up returning them before trying them on. But then a few nights ago the boyfriend kindly said…
Babe…[as he fits his whole hand down the back waist of my jeans] look how loose these are on you….you need jeans that fit.
Fiiiiiine. But since I am not done, I decided to go the cheap jeans route so Target it is! When I started this journey I was a size 13…sometimes a 15. So I grabbed a few pairs, some 11’s and some 9’s…was pretty certain that I’m in no way a 7 yet. 11’s were first…and they were too big! Then the 9’s….nice! Slightly, very slightly big, but I know there is no way I am a 7 yet so I guess I’m in between technically so I got the 9’s!
I did end up going with a different color than the ones pictured though! I ended up going with dark charcoal skinny jeans in a size 9! You guys, do you have any idea how long it has been since I was a single digit size?????!!!!
On vacay going out to the JW Desert Springs Resort bar lounge…where apparently the Jersey Shore threw up in…it was like a bizarro world of hideous tans, over processed hair, bedazzled shirts on guys, trashy attire on the women, guys with sunglesses indoors….
So I need to do laundry….will probably get pointed and laughed at in training tonight, but that’s okay!
Heading to downtown tonight! I really need new going-out clothes…all this clothes (minus the pants) is old and I haven’t bought new clothes because I’m not at my goal bod yet.
Tonight is a semi-bachelorette outing for my good friend Jenny that’s getting married in October in NYC and I’m a bridesmaid!
Really Urban Outfitters? This is what you’re putting out? Some are saying this shirt promotes an eating disorder…on the other hand some are saying it’s just a shirt.
Urban Outfitters has the description as:
“Eat less or more or however much you’d like in this seriously soft knit tee cut long and topped with a v-neck.”
What do you think?
A Mediterranean Hang Out
This was the outfit of choice for my hang out last night that I mentioned in a previous post about tapas. As I perused my closet, I came to realize that I don’t have any proper flats! I only have very casual flats, to the point of them not being able to be paired with a decent top. Note to self: Search for cute black, brown and maybe new red flats (red ones I have are so old).
Anywho, this was comfy, warm (because it was uber windy yesterday) and the boots and necklace dressed up the outfit! PCH during rush hour is no fun so I was a little late!
So to start, this happened and it was delicious! And I specially loved the cup’s little message:

It was a Dogfish Apricot IPA 8.5%! A bit too hoppy for my liking and really couldn’t taste the apricot, but not too shabby.
Now onto the tapas. Lots were ordered, but keep in mind the portions are very small (each maybe size of a tea saucer)! I’ve come to realize that tapas really are just mini-appetizers because they were all so different! We had melted goat cheese tapa with layer of marinara on top, bistec tapa, red pepper & feta hummus tapa, mini lamb skewers with tzatziki tapa and a baked brie tapa!
Nearly every tapa came with a side of pita or mini toasted bread (except the meat ones) and I had one sliver of pita and a bite of the bread, but I knew I would pay for it in the next few days if I had more (it makes me bloated), so thank goodness for the veggie slices for dipping. Thankfully this guy is aware of how I eat because he asked how I got into crossfit and I was honest! He actually high-fived me for liking meat/chicken/bacon like I do hahah. And no I’m not going to mention that I also had a vodka water after dinner.
On those jeans….
It’s been pointed out that the jeans post from last night may not be quite on target as being a size 27….
Let me explain…the pants say size 27, in the defense of the jeans, they’re a slightly stretchy material for one, and two, I have a high suspicion that this specific pair runs big. I’m not AS familiar with this kind of sizing (like I mentioned I usually just get jeans that have sizes that run in 9, 11, 13 etc). But do realize that I not a size 27, considering after showing my sister, after saying congratulations and she’s proud, she said she is a size 25/26 (and she is little!) which also got me thinking.
Anyway, the specific size of the jeans wasn’t meant to be the focus of that post. The mere fact that when my friend gave me the jeans toward the end of January I couldn’t even zip them up! I was frustrated! It just fueled my fire even more to get healthier and shed some poundage. That was the point of it….
I now own my most expensive pair of jeans ever: seven jeans!
My friend gave me this pair (size 27) back at end of January and I vowed to fit into them one day, and now they do! Yessss…..
My Easter outfit! I had been waiting to wear these shoes for months! It’s finally getting warm enough to wear them!
My On-the-Go Summer Outfit….well it’s the plan at least…I need ALL these things lol.
- Dress - Forever 21 $30
- 1950s Vintage Purse - Rusty Zipper $44
- Earrings - Betsey Johnson $45
- Cuff - Fantasy Jewelry Box $28
- Wedges - O So You
I think this outfit is super cute and I made it all by myself on polyvore! Add up all the stuff and it can be pretty pricey (for me) but I’m sure I can find alternates throughout. This is more of a reminder for me for what to get so I don’t go shopping blindly all the time.
My Go-To Beach Outfit for this summer!
What do I still need?
- The hat (which I’ve been eyeing one)
- Rainbows (I have some Old Navy ones that I’m kind of over)
- Striped Towel
Side note: I have my H&M striped tote but couldn’t find a pic of it to put up so put one up that’s similar to it.
