Soooooo happy I got to RX this one!!! I was literally dumbfounded by seeing I had to do 100 kips total. My hands (and my soul) paid the price. Barely made it! There was a 25 min cut off!
And….I got a double under PR out of nowhere, last round I did them unbroken at 40!!!!
110319 - Regatta and Replacement WODs
Yes, double WOD kind of Saturday morning!
Warm up:
2x
150m run
20 squats
15 abmat situps
10 pushups
5 pull ups
I was part of Team 1 (6 people), and the other Team 2 (7 people).
WOD #1 Regatta
Row 10,000m as a team
This destroyed me….rowing long distances always weakens me to the core, my legs, my forearms. So the next WOD didn’t help matters for sure.
WOD #2 Replacement
Move 2x 35lb kettles, 2x 56lb kettles, 2x 45lb dumbbells, 2x 55lb dumbbells, 1x 20lb vest, 1x 50lb bag, 1x 75lb bag, 1x 125lb tire pull, 1x large tractor tire flips, 1x med tractor tire flips, 2x 20lb med balls, 4x 45lb plates, 4x 35lb plates, and jump rope across 150m….when everything is moved across completely, then move back, all for time.
Both teams times added, and whoever had the least time, wins, and whoever loses has to put back all the equipment. We had one less than person than Team #2, and we lost by a little, sigh. But super intense workout.
P.S. I have been really curious about butterfly kips…I asked and by fellow crossfitter was told that coach doesn’t like to teach us yet until we string 15 regular kips….but on the side I tried it anyway, very interesting! I did it without going all the way up, but I get the movements!
