Just hanging out at the OC Throwdown where CrossFit 310’s very own Sean O’Rourke is competing!

(I feel like such a proper crossfitter typing the date like that!)
Started with the typical warm up of the foam roll (which I hate using on my legs but I know it’s necessary). Footwork outside.
Followed by this “warm up” (honestly why would this be called a warm up???):
10 sit-ups
10 wall balls (hold weighted ball, squat, then catapult ball against wall, catch)
10 push-ups (off-knees, slightly elevated)
10 squats
10 double-unders (with jump rope, one jump, two revolutions each time)
10 pull-ups (assisted by big band)
15 kettle swings (35lb - trainer made me move up in weight since last time gosh)
Practiced wall balls and power cleans (35lb barbell, squat and jerk up into rack position) for form.
WOD (Workout of the Day) for Time
10 power cleans (35lb barbell)
2 wall balls (10lb)
8 power cleans
4 wall balls
6 power cleans
6 wall balls
4 power cleans
8 wall balls
2 power cleans
10 wall balls
Wooooo, was I a sweaty beast after? A big fat YES. But I love it, it’s so worth it. On Monday I had also shared my concerned with Kris (my trainer) about my concerns that I may be hitting plateau even though I’m still eating great and working out and he asked me to bring in what I have eaten the past 3 or so days so I brought that in today. He told me he’ll look it over and consult with me about it. His way of training and how helpful he is is a HUGE reason why I decided to bite my lip and sign up (because believe me it’s not cheap).
So I am officially signing up for Crossfit 310 with Kris 3x a week with a 3 month agreement and I am so excited about it! Today after work is my first official session! I really like how he had me come in a couple times to try it out free of charge to see if I really like it, and didn’t just try to sell it to me with words.
3 months is a good chunk of time to see some real progress in my physique and strength (considering I only started this journey about 4 months ago).
Side note: I really need to make more friends (in real life) that I can gush to about all this because anyone not on a similar journey or doing similar things just doesn’t get it. They don’t necessarily understand my excitement. Why can’t some of you live closer to me?

Where are you doing Crossfit? This seems so ballsy and badass! I’m totally inspired.
-It was an introductory free session at Crossfit 310 - it’s in Redondo on Catalina, nice facility! He’s supposed to call or email me to discuss pricing options for me, I warned him I’m poor lol.
P.S. I always feel odd doing the @_____, this isnt Twitter geez! hahaha…..
