FAQ
F.A.Q.
Q: What website/app do you use to track you calories? And is it free?
A: I use Livestrong: MyPlate, and yes it is free and wonderful. It has huge database for food items including restaurants. I definitely recommend it. I also love that it breaks up everything into Calories/Fat/Cholesterol/Carb/Sugar/Fiber/Protein.
And even more so if you have an iPhone/Blackberry because there are apps for it. The only downside is that not all exercise forms are recognized, it can be fairly vague and generalized. Crossfit isn’t an option, nor are “squats”.
Q: What was your starting weight?
A: 180 lbs on about January 10, 2010
Q: What is current weight?
A: As of July, 2010 it is 143.8 lbs
Q: How tall are you?
A: Almost 5’4” :)
Q: How did you lose the weight so far? What’s your secret?
A: No secret, took it back to the basics of eating right [REAL] food and exercising and sticking to it and not make excuses anymore.
Q: What is this “primal eating” you always refer to?
A: Please check the right side of my tumblog, and click on “Mark’s Daily Apple”. He has the Primal Blueprint mindset and it makes a lot of sense to me and backed up by a lot of research. It is very similar to paleo eating (paleolithic) with very few differences. Or better yet, I’ve stumbled upon this PERFECT video explaining how I chose to eat:
Q: What do you do for exercise?
A: Check out the “My Fitness Routine” section on the right side over there for details on what I do. As of right now I am sticking to CrossFit and loving it.
I do however venture outside the box by hiking, swimming, and participating in random races (my second one was on Apr. 11 - Warrior Dash)
Q: What do you do for work?
A: Currently I work full time in the A/V field as a project administrator. I am looking to get into my desired field of advertising/marketing to put my degree in Advertising to use, but it has been hard.
Q: What is CrossFit?
Basically, no workout is ever the same, but it always incorporates exercises that build strength and power while increasing endurance. Best thing to do is Google “CrossFit” and see if it’s something you’d like to try. Personally, I love it because it’s always different and so challenging!
